- Description
This study reviews the reality of digital violence against women in Libya in terms of severity, impact, and solutions through in-depth qualitative interviews with twelve Libyan women leaders who have experienced digital violence because of being women. The study concluded that many women leaders or activists in the public field in Libya are subjected to gender-based digital violence, which mostly targets them in an organized manner through campaigns because they threaten the balance of power in the public sphere. Women also face compounded gender-based violence that intersects with other affiliations, whether ethnic, ideological, political, or related to appearance.
